Local synth rockers Love Thrills are throwing a launch party at Solbar on April 11 to celebrate the release of their fourth single DONE. And joining them for this show are DAMIEN, Lattes for Milfs, and Speira. ‘DONE’ is an epic, fast paced, punk rock thriller that provides the perfect little ‘fuck you with middle fingers up’ package you can leave in your ex’s DM’s. So grab your mates, slap on some attitude, slip on your best pair of high top kicks and come celebrate a bunch of acts that are ultra passionate about diversity and authenticity.
LOVE THRILLS is an all-queer rock outfit hailing from Gubbi Gubbi and Jinibara lands in Queensland. Their synth rock sound with punk undercurrents make their live shows brimming with raw energy and enthusiasm. Their third single MAGIC crept onto radio airwaves across the country in February. Their song SEXY MOTHAFUCKA, a sex-positive, body-positive, own-your-power anthem, with rowdy, rollicking pirate-like gang vocals, dropped late last year, and propelled the band into homes across the US with a viral vid shot on the verandah of their guitarists tiny home in the Aussie bush.
Iconic Ipswich electro-poprocker DAMIEN is back with a brand new single, 'Hot Days', which is his first new offering since the infectious 'I Don't Listen to the Radio' that appeared at number 43 in 4ZZZ's Hot 100 for 2024. DAMIEN is a brilliant performer who seamlessly weaves pop and darkwave into his musical tapestry, creating a unique sonic experience. With comparisons to Depeche Mode, Regurgitator and T.I.S.M, DAMIEN blends pop and industrial elements to create his unique style of alt-pop electronica. His sophomore album ‘Wrong Age. Wrong Race. Wrong Gender’ was awarded ‘album of the week’ by Brisbane’s community radio station 4ZZZ.
LATTES FOR MILFS are a 3 piece punk rock feminist anarchist band hailing from Nambour, Sunshine coast. Established in 2024, they instantly drew attention through their aggressive, in your face punk rock ethos of girl power and solidarity. Band members Hazel Vox and drums, Gem Vox and bass, Dave Guitar and Vox, who met at a 2024 Pride event, instantly connected and created the band that evening. Within 6 months they have already played a number of high profile gigs, spreading their unflinching and honest music and lyrics to the LGBTQI+ community and wider audience. They are a breath of fresh air in a male dominated industry, and are part of an exciting , new wave of female and trans bands demanding to be played, to be heard and to be acknowledged. They are currently recording their first ep. To quote off their first single ‘ feminpissed, feminpissed, I'm a feminist and I'm fucking pissed'
SPEIRA are a female-fronted alternative rock band grown from an old asbestos shed in Caloundra. The band blends raw rock, blues, and alternative influences into a unique style that pushes boundaries and creates a distinctive sonic experience that captivates audiences. With powerful lyrics, raw energy, captivating melodies and a dynamic stage presence, Speira’s music resonates with fans seeking authenticity and passion. Their growing fanbase and relentless drive have positioned them as one of the Sunshine Coast’s most exciting up-and-coming acts.
